At the end of 2015, I took a step back and looked at how far we came since the start of the year. This is mostly because I'm in that weird bit of the year when you don't really know what you are supposed to be doing, still eating lots of chocolate, mince pies and wondering if you should have been back at work already...
I hope you have all have gorgeously fantastic Christmases and that Santa was good to you and may have even popped some vintage/shabby chic/upcycling love under the tree? (Or was that too much to ask for ;) )
As you can see in the photos, so much as happened in the last year that I almost forgot that it all happened...
There are several things which I had never really planned for but were so exciting when they happened! We did our first ever fete stands, started with one space at Molly's Den and have ended with two there and a new one at Boutique Village, as well as becoming Everlong Paint and Chic Moulding Stockists. Of course more has happened behind the scenes but I shan't bore you with that. (Trust me, it involves accountants, websites and lots and lots of reading).
All of these things were pretty amazing but I also learnt that running a small business is hard, hard work and that you need to have multi tasking skills of a superhero. As well as run several social media accounts at once and learn that pricing is an art form. It takes a lot of time, some of this time I have to spare, but some I don't and I need to learn when to switch off!
I have also come to realise that I will always have chalk paint on my fingernails, hair, clothes, floors and on my children and I'm unlikely to ever get it out. That's not because the paint can't come out, it washes out super easy, its just that I'm always painting so it never seems to leave me!! I always start out with good intentions but it never lasts, I have embraced it, so if you see me in the street looking like I may have come in contact with a paint warehouse explosion, do not be alarmed ;)
Of course in the wider world lots of big things happened, some good, some bad and some, well best forgotten... I'm looking at you Madonna and your cape
But, its you guys, friends, customers and followers that have really made all of this possible this year and for that, I'm truly thankful! Enjoy 2016, as it will never happen again, good or bad
Lots of big squishy hugs and mushy kisses,
