Upcycled chairs and tables

I can't even begin to describe how busy the last week has been! It was mostly created by myself with the running of this website blog, alongside the facebook, twitter and google + social media outlets. I guess I hadn't realised how busy this would make my evenings or make me have to think of so much to say that could be perceived as interesting.

My long term idea for this buisness was it would mean I might be able to sell the odd bit  of furniture if I didn't have enough space in my house. However it turned out to be more successful than I imagined!! I already have 350 likers, how did that even happen?! (Massive thanks to my lovely friends who shared the page).

Any way, I have moved away from my original reason for this post, sharing a few photos of some recently up cycled pieces. A beautiful old chair which needed painting and re-upholstering, a folding side table and small table.

I loved this chair, I nearly didn't put it up for sale! It was painted in Annie sloan original, lightly sanded and waxed. The cushion had the original material removed and a lovely fresh stripy fabric put on.

How gorgeous is the finished chair?!

This chair actually sold for £50 within 24 hours of me placing it on the den! I couldn't believe it, but it is so lovely so I shouldn't be surprised.

I also did a folding small table, painted in Annie sloan paris grey with the bird pattern in Annie sloan original, then waxed with Annie Sloan soft clear wax.

I had two of these tables and both have now been sold. Alongside these, a very cute and small table was up cycled, in Authentico French rose, a bird pattern was put on using rollers from The Painted House (these are available from Molly's Den) in Annie Sloan original, then waxed. I forgot to take a before picture, but you kind of get the idea!

This table has now sold..

Finally, we have two painted farmhouse chairs in Authentico pebbles, then hand waxed. These sold for £25 each, Eliza couldn't help get in on the action!

These pieces have been lovely to paint, it's very relaxing to do and fills my otherwise empty evenings. Especially as the nights are seeming to draw in.

Anyone else been up to some up-cycling?

Xx
