Who doesn't love a cute mini milk bottle?!
Mini milk bottles are still a massive trend for weddings, birthday parties and outdoor events which have a vintage or shabby chic feel. These adorable little bottles can be used as table settings, floral arrangements, hanging decorations and to serve alcoholic drinks, milk with cookies and smoothies, the list is seemingly endless. This makes this bottles such an adaptable item, so its no wonder they are very popular with brides to be!
These bottles were originally used to provide free milk (1/3rd pint) to children under 11 in 1968 and in 1971 it was just for children under 7 years old, it is still going now but its just for under 5's and not in a cute glass bottles instead in cardboard cartons.
I think we love these retro mini bottles because they remind us of a bygone era (even if we weren't alive then!) and we have a rose tinted view of what life was like. A time when all that concerned us was playing in the playground, running around with our friends and sweets only cost a penny in a paper bag! Also its ridiculously cute when you use a coloured paper straw with a silver foil caps...
I'm moving away from just the plan bottles and I'm loving the bottles that people have dip painted or added stripes too. These are fantastic for embracing the spring trend for pastel colours and look stunning as a BBQ table centrepiece.
The whole mini milk bottle trend has been going strong still 2012 and I don't see any signs of it stopping soon. Here are some of my favorite ideas of what to use them for at a wedding:Follow Eliza Rose's board Mini Milk Bottles on Pinterest.
Of course they don't have to be used just for weddings, they are also super cute at children's birthday parties or christening with brightly coloured straws and a yummy fruit smoothie. Another idea is to fill them with sweets and give them as end of party gifts.
